The Kolkata story
Kolkata’s goldsmiths are known for making a large piece feel light.
The work is in the filigree: thin wires and tiny beads soldered into chokers, sita haars and chik necklaces that cover the collarbone without the weight of a solid casting. Most sets are 22K, 916 hallmarked, with matching jhumkas or studs.
